SNAP DiSruption Resources

Due to the federal shutdown, new SNAP benefits will not be issued in November. EBT cards will not receive new funds on Nov 1. You can still use any SNAP funds already on your card. Here are some resources to help families during this time.

Food pantries

Food Gatherers is distributing larger quantities of food more frequently through their 140 partner pantries and programs and will supplement that with drive-thru emergency food distributions. To find a meal site or food pantry near you, visit https://www.foodgatherers.org/findfood or call 734-761-2796.

Argus farm stop Grocery vouchers

Anyone in need of support buying groceries can get a $10 grocery voucher to purchase anything a SNAP/EBT card would normally cover. Each shopper is limited to 4 vouchers per trip. Only valid at Argus Farm Stop.

Senior Cafes

Residents aged 60 and older can receive meals at Senior Café sites throughout the county.

Veterans

Washtenaw County residents who are active-duty Veterans with an honorable discharge or under honorable and are no longer receiving SNAP benefits can contact Washtenaw County Veterans Affairs at (734) 973-4540. DD-214 and DHHS letter are required.

The delay in SNAP benefits does not impact Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) benefits. Washtenaw County’s WIC program is open and prepared to support residents. WIC food benefits remain active and can be used as usual. There is currently funding to support Michigan WIC operations through November 24.
