SNAP DiSruption Resources

Due to the federal government shutdown, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits have not been issued as expected in November 2025. As of November 12th, the federal government shutdown has ended. The bill that Congress passed to reopen the government funds SNAP through September 2026. Full SNAP benefits should resume, but delays are possible as the government reopens. Visit Michigan.gov/MIBridges for further updates.

Below are some resources to help families who need assistance during this time.

Food pantries

Food Gatherers is distributing larger quantities of food more frequently through their 140 partner pantries and programs and will supplement that with drive-thru emergency food distributions. To find a meal site or food pantry near you, visit www.foodgatherers.org/foodresources or call 734-761-2796.
